The Grand Ducal Police have reported that, on Monday this week, water pollution was noticed in the Dudelingerbach, by the Scheleck Industrial zone in Bettembourg.

An oil-like liquid from a drainpipe at the industrial zone was seen to be flowing into the adjacent Dudelingerbach. The fire services managed to close the pipe.

Together with agents of the Water Management Office, police officers managed to locate the source within a company's premises in the industrial zone, within which other sources of pollution were also identified and provisionally stopped.

A case was opened and filed against the business for violating the Kommodo legislation. The Water Management Office will monitor the elimination of the shortcomings identified on the premises.
