On Saturday 8 April 2017, two men committed fraud when they withdrew money from an ATM they had manipulated on Rue de Bonnevoie in Luxembourg City.
The thieves first tampered with the slot where the bank card is inserted to ensure it would be locked inside the machine, waiting for someone to come along and withdraw money.
They then observed the person as they entered their code and withdrew a large sum of the individual’s money when the latter could not retrieve their card.
Regarding this incident, police have launched an appeal for witnesses to come forward and identify the thieves. Witnesses should call 113 or contact the Luxembourg police via tel.: 4997 4500.
