In the context of the problem of eggs contaminated with Fipronil, the Luxembourg authorities were informed today, Tuesday, that contaminated eggs have been sold on the Luxembourg market.

Specifically, the eggs contaminated with Fipronil insecticide have een sold at Aldi stores from 25 July, with to-be-consumed-by dates of 15/08/2017 and 16/08/2017, with  identification numbers X-NL42364-XX and X-NL43868-XX. All of these products were withdrawn from the market by Aldi.

Luxembourg's Ministry of Health and Ministry of Agriculture, Viticulture and Consumer Protection cofirmed that, to their knowledge:

- Lot X-NL43868-XX should not be eaten by young children.

- For lot X-NL42364-XX there is no health risk for the consumer.

The Luxembourg authorities confirmed that they will subsequently take all necessary measures on the basis of information received via the European Commission's early warning system.
