In the early hours of Monday, the alarm was raised over a fire at a vacant property on the Rue de Prague in the Pétrusse valley in Luxembourg city.

The alarm was raised at around 04:30. When the emergency services arrived, the top floor attic was in flames. The fire brigade services discovered two persons asleep on the second floor of the building and evacuated them.

The firefighting proved difficult and continued until the early hours of the morning. The rue de Prague had to be completely closed for the duration of the operation.

Nobody was injured in the fire.

The public prosecutor ordered a forensics examination of the building to establish the cause of the fire.​
