Beasts of Beauty, the inaugural exhibition at the gallery ARTSCAPE Contemporary S.à.r.l.-S by Luxembourg’s photographer Yves Kortum, opens Thursday 21 September at 18:00 at the restaurant Lagura Next Door (18 Ave. de la Faïencerie, L-1510 Luxembourg-Limpertsberg).

The exhibition reveals the most recent developments in Kortum's highly professional, yet very personal, fashion photography with images of women at the central theme. Inspired by Helmut Newton, Yves has developed a strong and characteristic aesthetics that remains to be discovered by the local public.

Since the early 1990s, Luxembourg-born Yves Kortum ploughs Europe on his search of new faces for the model agency Elite. His first cover page for ELLE in 1993 stood at the beginning of a huge body of work commissioned by the big international companies in the fashion, cosmetics and hair industries. He shoots for luxury brands such as Chanel and Cartier, for L’Oréal Professional, Wella, Schwarzkopf, Toni&Guy, as well as for Lifestyle- and fashion magazine such as RIZE, L’OFFICIEL Switzerland, Big Shot 360, S Magazine, etc. In Luxembourg Kortum shoots for RTL and numerous celebrities. Throughout his career path, which lead him to Brussels, Paris, Vienna and Luxembourg, he remained open to a variety of new influences that he used to shape his own distinctive aesthetics.

ARTSCAPE Contemporary S.à.r.l.-S. is a young gallery that showcases current positions of distinct international art and photography. Now in its second year of nomadic activity, it have somehow settled and has developed a new format of more intimate shows called Art Bites that take place in the urban restaurant Lagura.
