Luxembourg's Prime Minister and Minister of State, Xavier Bettel, is travelling to New York to attend the 72nd General Assembly of the United Nations on Monday and Tuesday 18-19 September 2017.

On Monday, in the margins of the General Assembly, PM Bettel will attend an event organised by the United States on the reform of the United Nations. The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, will be present.

On Tuesday, PM Bettel will participate in the summit launching the Global Compact for the Environment at the United Nations General Assembly, in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron.

On the sidelines of the UN meetings, Prime Minister Bettel will open the trading session of the New York Stock Exchange on Monday 18 September 2017.

PM Bettel will meet with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. He will also meet with several Heads of State and Government to take stock of bilateral relations and to tackle major international issues. He will also take advantage of his stay in New York to meet representatives of the economic world.

Following the UN General Assembly, the Prime Minister will visit the US West Coast, where he will meet with US companies to learn about the latest trends, developments and opportunities in the digital world.
