Deputy governor of the Henan Province of the People’s Republic of China, Shu Qing, has undertaken a working visit to Luxembourg between 12-15 August 2017.

Shu Qing, vice-governor of the Henan Province in charge of trade, tourism and foreign relations, was accompanied by a delegation of representatives of China's public enterprises Henan Province Airport Group Co., Ltd. (HAG) and Henan Civil Aviation Development and Investment Company Ltd. (HNCA), on his recent working visit to the Grand Duchy.

During this trip, Luxembourg Ministers of Finance, Pierre Gramegna, and of National Education, Children and Youth, Claude Meisch, welcomed the Chinese vice-governor. Shu Qing also met with representatives of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure.

Over the last few years, Luxembourg and Henan Province have forged strong cooperation links in the field of air cargo. Since 2014, HNCA has held a 35% stake in Cargolux and the two companies have set up the dual hub strategy to develop a European logistics hub at Luxembourg airport and a Chinese logistics hub to the one of Zhengzhou.

This recent visit saw the signing of several agreements between Cargolux and its two Chinese partners, HNCA and HAG. These agreements aim to further develop the dual hub strategy and airfreight infrastructure in Zhengzhou and Luxembourg.

Finally, the visit explored new avenues of collaboration between Luxembourg and the Province of Henan in the tourism and finance sectors.
