On Tuesday lunchtime, the 5th floor conference room of the Luxembourg law firm elvinger Hoss Prussen on Place Winston Churchill hosted the 3rd AMCHAM Social Media Workshop, this time addressing Twitter.

With numbers already reaching the maximum on Monday and registrations being suspended, the room was full. Following a light lunch, Cedric Delahaye of EHP welcomed the 50-strong attendees and handed over to Moderator Geoff Thompson who firstly presented some statistics about social media growth, Twitter in particular, before addressing the issue of terminology and examples of successful hashtags, influencers and brands.

He encouraged attendees NOT to switch off their phones and to tweet with the hashtag #amchamluxworkshop, and soon eyeryone's tweets were projected onto the large screen for all to see.

Guest panelists Kasia Kolo (#BRAVEYOUTH, formerly Girls in Tech, etc.) and Christine Bovi (Government press & information service) gave fascinating insights into their experiences of social media campaigns, primarily Twitter, and stressed that resources are required to operate a professional Twitter account which is definitely not just a 9-5 job. They weighed up the pros and cons of outsourcing social media management to agencies and also addressed key permormance indicators (KPIs) and return on investment (ROI).

One of the key issues of this event was the level of interactivity with the audience and the number of tweets they, and the organisers, managed to post during the event, as well as after it.

Details of the next such AMCHAM workshop will be announced shortly.
