In spring this year, LuxairGroup launched the LuxairCARGO Logistics Competition 2017 in Collaboration with the logistics branches of the Lycées Techniques of Bonnevoie and Lallange.

The initiative aims to reward the best work carried out by high school students on defined themes, and is supported by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure and the Ministry of National Education, Children and Youth.

At a ceremony held this Monday at the Lycée Technique de Lallange, in the presence of Karin Meyer of the Ministry of National Education, Childhood and Youth, Max Nilles of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructures, Marc Schroeder, Executive Vice-President Finance at LuxairGroup, and Claude Loesch, Director of the Lycée Technique de Lallange and Jean-Marie Wirtgen, Director of the Lycée Technique de Bonnevoie, the best projects have been revealed and those involved recognised for their work.

The S1GL1 class at the Lycée Technique de Lallange won the first prize for the presentation of a project related to the optimisation of flows at the truck parking area at LuxairCARGO. LuxairCARGO congratulated the winning team for their outstanding work: Ivo Da Silva Carneiro, Daniel De Castro Barbosa, Hugo Pires Da Silva and Tom Rissé.

The second prize ex aequo was awarded to the students of classes 02GL1 and T0GL1 of the Lycée Technique de Bonnevoie. The students studied issues related to the different types of jobs at LuxairCARGO and the optimisation of off-grid load storage.

As part of this competition, the students were supervised by their teachers and benefited from personalised support by LuxairCARGO specialists.

The competition helped high school students to exchange with a major player in the logistics sector and gain experience by working on concrete projects.

At the beginning of the 2017-18 school year, four apprentices will have the opportunity to follow their logistics training at LuxairCARGO.
