On 10 July 2017, the 40 winners of the "Let'z Go Cycling" photo contest received their prizes at the Place Guillaume II in Luxembourg City.

Launched in preparation for the Tour de France 2017 in Luxembourg and on the occasion of the opening of the tourist season on 14 April 2017, the photo competition "Let'z Go Cycling" appealed to cyclists and bike enthusiasts alike to share their love of cycling, by submitting a picture of them with their bike in one of their favourite places in the Grand Duchy.

Subsequently, Internet users were invited to vote by giving a like to one or more photos in the gallery published on www.letzgocycling.lu. Over 620 participants got involved and more than 20,000 users visited the site.

The objectives of the competition were, on the one hand, to encourage the general public to discover Luxembourg by bike and, on the other hand, to demonstrate Luxembourg's attractiveness for cyclists, with its beautiful landscapes and network of bike lanes.

On the occasion of the Tour de France 2017 on 3 July 2017, the 40 winners of the competition were officially announced on the website.

This was followed, yesterday, by the invitation of all 40 winners of the competition to Place Guillaume II around the public exhibition of the most beautiful photos of the competition, for the official presentation of the prizes by the Secretary of State for the Economy, Francine Closener.

In a sporting atmosphere, the winner of the competition was awarded a race bike with the exclusive design "Luxembourg - Let's make it happen" and the 39 other finalists won a whole series of accessories for the bike.

More information is available on the initiative’s website.
