In the lead up to the Luxembourg FinTech Awards 2017 which are being held on 28 June 2017, applications have opened; the prizes will include €50,000 in prize money, a trip to Silicon Valley, free-of-charge hosting at Technoport in Esch-Belval and membership of the KPMG Hub for Entrepreneurship (the Khube).

A new Women in FinTech award, sponsored by the LHoFT, has been announced for 2017, offering free-of-charge LHoFT membership including six months of hosting at the LHOFT FinTech hub.

FinTech Awards Luxembourg is looking to unearth the outstanding jewels of the global FinTech startup universe, as well as presenting them with real and tangible opportunities to acquire new clients by building their network and credibility with senior decision-makers and CEOs from the Luxembourg financial services community.

Why Luxembourg? Luxembourg is the largest finance centre in continental Europe, the largest fund management sector outside of the US and the global leader in cross-border fund distribution. It is home to over 140 banks, is a leader in the insurance sector and in clearing of Renminbi business with the 7 largest Chinese banks choosing to establish here.

Applications are open until 1 May; those interested have until then to submit applications for the awards. Fifteen startups will then be selected to go through to Competition Day on 28 June. At this event, the fifteen startups will be whittled down to seven finalists who will compete for four prizes. The winners will be announced during the Awards Ceremony on the KPMG Plage beach in Luxembourg.
