On Saturday evening, the ING Night Marathon Luxembourg was won by Edwin Kibet Kiptoo (Kenya) in 2:16:55, who was two minutes ahead of compatriot John Komen, with Alex Chesakit of Uganda 20 seconds further behind in 3rd place.

Top Luxembourg runner was Bertil Muller (2:56:54) in 13th position, closely followed by Chris Kipchen (2:58:34) in 14th, Thierry Dondelinger in 18th (3:02:12) and Frazer Alexander in 19th (3:03:30).

A total of 950 contestants completed the men's marathon.

In the women's competition, out of the 196 who completed the course, the winner was Ethiopia's Tsehay Gebre Getiso (2:46:08) followed by Beji Geletu Bekelu (Ethiopia; 2:51:25) and Jane Chelagat (Kenya; 2:52:53).

The top Luxembourg finishers were Fabienne Gehlen (7th; 3:20:48), Yasmine Jacoby (9th; 3:31:46) and Delia Controguerra (10th; 3:32:26)
