Luxembourg Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Nicolas Schmit, is heading for Brussels this Friday 24 February for a European Commission and International Labour Organisation (ILO)  conference on workplace inequality and the role of industrial relations and social dialogue.

"Effective social dialogue can contribute to a fairer distribution of income and productivity gains," said Minister Schmit. "After a period marked by the dismantling of social dialogue systems in a number of countries of the European Union, we will have to relaunch social dialogue and give back to collective bargaining between the social partners. In Luxembourg, we have, among other things, strengthened social dialogue through the law reforming social dialogue within companies."
