On Saturday morning, a 47 year-old motorcyclist from France died in a road traffic accident on the A13 motorway near Frisange.

Shortly before 10:00 he was travelling in the direction of Hellange with four motorcyclists and was around 2km from the roundabout when the motorcyclist at the rear lost control of his motorcycle which crashed into the motorway guardrail and into a wall. According to the Grand Ducal Police, the motorcycle came to a rest on the road several hundred metres from the site of the impact.

The motorcyclist suffered serious head injuries and was declared dead at the scene of the accident. The other three motorclclists are being provided with psychological counselling.

The public prosecutor has ordered an investigation into the cause of the accident and a forensics examination of the scene of the accident. The motorway is expected to be closed to traffic for several hours.
