Two years after it opened, in September 2011, the 1Com group inaugurated the Yoyo playground in Howald on Saturday during its Summer Festival.

In talking to The Luxembourg Chronicle, Administrateur Délégué Steve Darné explained that the concept grew after he found it difficult to find suitable venues for children's parties in Luxembourg, and somewhere to allow children to enjoy thrills. Yoyo is the largest such covered free leisure space in the Greater Region and its jungle-themed playground is build around a central 9m slide.

Initially, Yoyo comprised an extensive, 3-story, 12m high jungle-themed indoor playground; now it comprises much more. It took two years to create the finished product which now also includes an outdoor playground which even includes a zip wire. It is the ideal location for children's birthday parties where, in addition to the restaurant dining areas on the ground and first floors, also has no less than six private party areas overlooking the main indoor playground where, after eating, the parents can remain and relax while keeping an eye on the children enjoying themselves. There is also a disco on the top floor and a terrace out the back.

On Saturday and Sunday, Yoyo hosted a Summer Festival with bouncy castles, archery, fishing, face-painting, a barbecue and much more.

During the summer, Yoyo offers a 20% discount on evening dinners, and a children's SummerPass costs €50; during the winter months, standard entry is for two hours, with additional time charged by the hour.

The Luxembourg-based 1Com group is active in restaurants, night-life, leisure, real estate and corporate services. In its two years, it has welcomed 170k+ children and has hosted 6,000 birthday parties, as well as served 55,000 meals.
