On Thursday 20 July 2017, the College of Mayors and Aldermen of the Ville de Luxembourg (VdL) inaugurated a new playground on the outskirts of the Rue d'Anvers in the Gare district.

With the help of citizen participation, the existing playground has been redesigned and expanded in recent months by the Parks Department of the VdL.

On the existing multi-sports ground there is now a playground with three spaces dedicated to different ages. The playground for the little ones is secured by a fence, while the older children will be able to move more freely or enjoy, just as the adults can, new sports facilities, such as outdoor fitness and a slackline.

The playground is also equipped with a drinking water fountain and a dog toiler, as well as a place for the installation of a food truck.

The cost of redevelopment and new installations, which has been ongoing from March to July 2017, is approximately €680,000.
