The 2017 Elsy Jacobs Festival, the tenth memorial women’s road race for 1958 world road cycling champion Elsy Jacobs, is running from 28 April to 1 May this year, for three tough stages at international level — UCI WE 2.1 — for teams of six. This year’s Festival also includes the Elsy Jacobs tour on Sunday 1 May, for a more leisurely choice of 100km, 56km or 27km in Elsy’s hometown of Garnich.
On the programme for the Festival this year:
Friday 28 April: 2.8km Prologue in Cessange. First departure 17:00
Saturday 29 April: 1st stage, 97.7km Steinfort - Steinfort. Departure 14:30
Sunday 30 April: 2nd stage, 111.1km Garnich - Garnich. Departure 14:00
Closing reception around 17:30
Monday 1 May: 18th Hike Elsy Jacobs for cyclists in Garnich (course with choice: 100km / 56km / 27km). Departure possible between 08:00 and 12:00.
