Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel visited the Lycée du Nord in Wiltz (LNW) yesterday to learn about the institution's training courses and explore what the students are working on.

The school’s director, Pierre Stockreiser, explained that, alongside traditional courses, LNW has been offering a BTS entitled "Technologie Bois" since the school year 2014-2015, the objective of which is to train technicians capable of working in different wood-based industries, an expanding sector that is eager for skilled labour.

Speaking to the students, Prime Minister Bettel raised the issue of the challenges that the European Union currently faces.

"Together we are stronger," the prime minister said.

"Believe me, without the European Union, all the Member States would be weaker and the people poorer”.

Xavier Bettel explained to the students that the European Union has been a peace project since its inception and has succeeded in bringing peace to our regions for more than 70 years.
