This year's Tour de France commences this coming Saturday 1 July in Dusseldorf, Germany, before going to south-east Belgium; on Monday 3 July, the cycle race will pass through the Grand Duchy, from North to South, primarily along the N12, and on Tuesday from Mondorf towards the Vosges in France.

As a result, many roads will be closed to traffic between certain times.

Approximately 90 minutes before the advertising caravan passes, traffic bans/diversions will begin to be put in place, which will be effective no later than 30 minutes before the planned passing through of the advertising caravan. The closing of the roads will end with the passage of vehicles signaling the official tail of the race. In parallel, parking bans on the route will apply throughout.

In order to minimise traffic disturbances, people who do not wish to be spectators of the tour, the advertising caravan and the cyclists and support vehicles, are advised to avoid the vicinity of the route. Police officers will be located at focal points along the route.

Mamer, Foetz, Schifflange and Schengen Exchanges

On July 3, the Mamer interchange on the A6 motorway will remain open, but no access to Mamer or Kehlen via the N6 will be possible from 11:30.

On the A4 motorway, the exits of the Foetz interchange, towards Foetz and Mondercange, will be closed to traffic from 12:00. The A4 junction with the A13 will remain open to traffic.

On the A13 motorway, the exits of the Schifflange interchange will be closed to traffic from 12:00.

On 4 July, on the A13 motorway, all the junctions of the Schengen interchange will be closed from 07:00 until about 13:00.

Luxembourg-France Border

On 3 July, the arrival of the 3rd stage is scheduled around 17:00 in Longwy. A number of roads in France, including all cross-border crossings (e.g. the Micheville link) to Audun-le-Tiche, Villerupt and Longwy, will be completely closed to traffic (in both directions) by the French authorities between noon and 18:00.

Leaving access to France will be very difficult before 18:00. Those concerned are asked to inquire at the local French authorities about traffic restrictions.

Mondorf

On 4 July, the start of the 4th stage will be at Mondorf-les-Bains. Given that the exit of the Schengen interchange will be closed and that access to Mondorf via the N16 will be reserved exclusively for the official vehicles of the Tour, spectators wishing to go to Mondorf to follow the start of the stage are requested to take the exit at the "Altwies" interchange (N11) and follow the signs to the car parks.
