Language learning - an adventure for children and teenagers

Berlitz Luxembourg will be hosting an open door event providing information on its language camps for children and teenagers on Saturday 4 June 2016 from 10:00 to 12:00 at Berlitz Luxembourg (4th floor, 14 Rue Beck, Luxembourg-centre).

Children and teenagers can participate in an enjoyable language lesson which will be very different from the traditional school environment. There will be some interesting surprises and unique learning opportunities for the youngsters.

The Kids and Teens Camps combine communicative language learning in English, French and German with a variety of stimulating free-time activities. They will take place in the youth hostels in Luxembourg, Schengen, Echternach and Lultzhausen and are designed for children and teenagers from 7 to 17 years old. The language lessons in the morning will be lively and varied. Popular activities such as conducting interviews, role plays, language games and themed project work form the basis of the learning activities. In contrast to a formal school environment, grammar is applied through games and lively dialogue. The focus is on encouraging children to apply their passive knowledge through oral communication in a relaxed and fun way. A team of specially trained, native-fluent instructors communicates with the children solely in the foreign language.

In the afternoon camp, participants can choose from a diverse selection of activities – climbing and kayak trails courses with professional instruction, sports like football, volleyball and basketball, Geocaching as well as excursions. All activities are conducted in the target language giving the participants the confidence to use their new language more frequently than ever before. Thus children have fun, make friends and learn the language by the way.
