The City of Echternach and Lakeside SCI have announced the construction of the Lakeside Restaurant at Lake Echternach.
Construction of the new restaurant will begin under architectural firm Metaform in October 2017 and the official opening of "Lakeside" is scheduled for spring 2018.
This simple and elegant building is destined to become a meeting place, a convivial element, a space for rest and pleasure, while being harmoniously integrated into the surrounding environment.
Divided into two distinct parts, it will merge with the terrain and transform it into landscape sculpture: the first part is will be a monumental staircase, connecting the banks of the lake to the top of the recreation area; the second part will be the restaurant itself.
Overlooking a roof tilted towards the lake, the restaurant will be characterised by its panoramic windows, which along with the roof, will give it a landscape view.
In order to respect the "natural" identity of the place, the new construction will play with the contrasts of raw materials and natural materials: wood, natural stone, glass, concrete and raw metal.
For a total of 310sqm, the establishment will consist of a dining room, a bar, a hot kitchen and a cold kitchen, several storage spaces and public toilets accessible independently from the outside. It will offer more than 65 seats. In summer, a terrace facing the lake will welcome guests in a unique setting.
