On Thursday 29 June, the US Embassy in Luxembourg held an Independence Day reception in the grounds of the embassy and ambassador's residence in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg.

In her first official role since taking up office on 25 June, Ms. Kerri S. Hannan, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the United States Embassy, hosted the event to which a number of representatives from the Luxembourg political scene, and the business and social communities, attended.

Music was provided by Ben Konen and his jazz band, the four members of which have studied in the US at the Berklee College of Music (Ben Konen (LU, drums), Matthieu Danesin (FR, drums), Laurent Payfert (FR, double bass), Remy Labbe (trumpet), Amaury Faye (BE, piano)).

As in previous years' events around 4 July, this year also saw various stands with traditional US foods and drinks available for guests. The US Marines presented arms and Kerri S. Hannan addressed the guests on the lawn of the building's grounds.
