The US Embassy in Luxembourg has announced that Ms. Kerri S. Hannan has assumed the responsibility of the position of Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the United States Embassy to Luxembourg as of 25 June 2017.

Prior to serving in Luxembourg, she was the Director of the Office of English Language Programs in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, where she oversaw the State Department's global English programmes.

Her overseas assignments include as Spokesperson at the U.S. Embassy Kabul; Cultural Affairs Officer in Buenos Aires and New Delhi, and Consular Officer in La Paz, Bolivia. She also was a desk officer for the Balkans, Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Staff Assistant, and Watch Officer in the Operations Center.

She speaks Spanish, French, and Dari.
 
Kerri earned a degree in Zoology and a Master’s in Latin American Studies with a concentration in Tropical Conservation and Development from the University of Florida. She is married to Christina DiVito and they have a one-year old son.  

On Thursday 29 June 2017, Ms. Hannan hosted her first official event in honour of the celebration of the United States’ 241st anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
