Students from the Ettelbrück Technical High School have presented Caritas Luxembourg with a cheque for €4,000 euros for the benefit of disadvantaged children and young people in Luxembourg.

Five students from the Ettelbrück Technical High School, Lisa Patat, Kelly Decker, Valeria Thilmany, Savannah Ribeiro and Karina Dodici presented the charity with the sum, which was collected during their "Plug it Up!" music festival last month.

The high school students held the music festival on 3 June 2017 at the A Frounert Cultural Centre in Bissen. The festival brought together a wide range of musical groups, sponsors and music lovers, which is a huge achievement for an initiative that was initially part of a compulsory school project for young people as part of their studies.

During the presentation of the cheque, the representatives of Caritas Luxembourg and Young Caritas stressed that the students should be proud, not only because they were able to raise €4,000 euros for children and young people in need in Luxembourg, but also because they were rewarded for their work in project management at the PM Awards given by Jonk Entrepreneuren to the Chamber of Commerce.

Moreover, the success of the festival was such that a 2018 edition is already envisaged. In order to perpetuate their actions, the young people created the "Friends4events" association.
