The 38th Micro-finance Meeting coordinated any ADA, with the support of the Directorate of Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Action of Luxembourg and InFiNe.lu and in collaboration with the Bank of Luxembourg, will take place on Wednesday 8 March at the Bank of Luxembourg.

The Meeting will address the question of what roles micro-finance can play in the face of Africa’s growing dynamism and entrepreneurialism.

It is reported that, based on current trends, Africa’s GDP could match Europe’s by 2050 with much of that energy deriving from SMEs in a range of sectors, including technology, agribusiness, construction, health, tourism and energy.

The Meeting hopes to examine the questions of how to invest in these SMEs in the face of inherent risks, who are the people behind their growth and what challenges do they face, and how will the new face of Africa look in fifteen, twenty years’ time.

Jean-Michel Severino, co-author of the book "Entreprenante Afrique" and Chairman of the fund 'Investors and Partners', will testify to the entrepreneurial momentum in Sub-Saharan Africa and New opportunities. His interlocutor, Eric Campos, General Delegate of the Grameen Crédit Agricole Foundation, will share his experience working with African SMEs as a social business investor.

The discussion between the two speakers will be moderated by ADA's Executive Advisor Luc Vandeweerd and will be concluded by Laura Foschi, Deputy Director of ADA.

The Meeting, which will be in French, will open at 12:00, followed by a buffet. Reservations should be made before 24 February and the organisers recommend booking early to ensure a place.
