Luxembourg City will host the unique concert “1812” to mark the 175th anniversary of the Musique Militaire Grand-Ducale on Friday 7 July 2017 from 20:00 in the square of Neimënster.

On the occasion of this anniversary, the Luxembourg City Tourist Office, the Ville de Luxembourg, the Armée Luxembourgeoise and the not-for-profit organisation D'Frënn vun der Militärmusek have organised a special concert entitled "1812".

On this occasion, the Musique Militaire Grand-Ducale, conducted by Major Jean-Claude Braun, will begin with Sir Edward Elgar's "Pomp and Circumstance". Afterwards, the West Side Story will showcase Bernstein's homogeneous and dynamic style.

Then, in concert with the Luxembourg Chamber Choir, spectators, musicians and choristers will live a experience the solemn opening "1812" of Tschaikovsky with the distant canon of artillery fired by the Musique Militaire Grand-Ducale.
