On 3 July 2017, the Luxembourg State Secretary for Culture, Guy Arendt, and Mayor of the City of Luxembourg, Lydie Polfer, announced the collaboration between the State and the City of Luxembourg’s cultural institutions in the "Steichen Collections".

This collaboration brings together Luxembourg’s heritage linked to Luxembourgish photographer Edward Steichen (1879-1973). The Centre national de l’audiovisuel, the National Museum of History and Art (MNHA), the 2 museums and the Photothèque de la Ville de Luxembourg are working closely together to enhance this exceptional heritage.

44 photos belonging to the City of Luxembourg will be integrated, on loan, into the "Edward Steichen - The Photographer" space at the MNHA after the end of the Time Space Continuum exhibition at Villa Vauban (until 15 April 2018).

Guy Arendt welcomed the fact that the City of Luxembourg is now associated with the "Steichen Collections" and stressed the importance of such cooperation: "The work of Edward Steichen fascinates us to the present day and the many facets of his work are presented in various places in the Grand Duchy, a unique situation that must be promoted."
