Female Entrepreneurship Ambassadors Luxembourg (fea.lu) has announced the launch of its “Les Femmes Pionnières du Journalisme” exhibition, to take place on 30 March 2017 at the Centre Culturel ‘Schéiss’, starting from 17:30.

The exhibition, the first of its kind, will run from 31 March to 22 April 2017 and aims to present the first women who entered the world of writing and journalism in Luxembourg in the past century.

The public will have the opportunity to learn about the lives and journalistic work of these women who shaped media and society in the last century. The project focuses on fifteen interesting women who left their mark on society with their personalities and skills.

The exhibition, presented in the form of roll-ups, will be enhanced by a historical analysis of the development of the female presence in media and culture in Luxembourg, given by Josiane Weber, a renowned historian and member of the association.

Fea.lu, the organisers of this exhibition along with others in the “Femmes Pionnières du Luxembourg” series, is composed of three female entrepreneurs, Joëlle Letsch (Managing Partner, ADT Centre), Netty Thines  (Delegate Administrator, Mediation SA) and Domenica Fortunato (Associate, Jean Fortunato).

The exhibition’s vernissage, which will take place next Thursday, will begin with a welcome speech from Lydie Polfer, Mayor of the Ville de Luxembourg. This will be followed by a presentation of the exhibition by Joëlle Letsch, President of Femmes pionnières du Luxembourg, and first-hand statements from female journalists Yolande Kieffer, Viviane Reding, Irène Pissinger-Engelmann and Sandie Lahure.

There will also be speeches from Francine Closener, Secretary of State for the Economy, and Guy Arendt, Secretary of State for Culture, as well as a closing speech by Lydia Mutsch, Minister for Equal Opportunities.
