Since the end of 2016, LuxairCARGO has been experiencing record monthly results, which confirm its operational growth that started in 2016; this means that the LuxairGroup’s air-freight handling specialist has also had excellent results for the first half of 2017.

Results beyond expectations

On average, an impressive and continued growth of 16% was recorded, reaching peaks of over 22% per month compared to the same period of the previous year. In June 2017, volumes handled by LuxairCARGO reached 75,300 tonnes, which is an increase of 15% compared to the same period in 2016. The historic result of 900,000 tonnes in 2007 is within reach, unless exceptional circumstances prevail.

The Cargocenter is ranked sixth air-freight handling platform in Europe. It is experiencing an extraordinary upturn, which means that its figures far exceed IATA’s growth forecast.

Quality of services and cutting-edge infrastructures

The current success also confirms the quality and reliability of services, which are greatly appreciated by customers, despite a competitive context and a constant pressure. “Quality is our strength at LuxairCARGO. This asset needs to be preserved and developed. We are also investing massively in our infrastructures, our systems and of course we count a lot on our staff’s commitment, without whom these kinds of results would not be possible,” stated Laurent Jossart, Executive Vice-President Cargo Handling.

In terms of infrastructure, LuxairCARGO currently has 8 parking bays, so four cargo aircraft can be handled simultaneously. These possibilities will be developed further from 2018, as 4 more parking bays are being built in partnership with Ponts & Chaussées and lux-Airport. These investments will further reinforce LuxairCARGO’s positioning and will ensure a comfortable future.
