Luxembourg’s Project Management Institute — PMI Luxembourg Chapter — is hosting a seminar of Project Assurance, a method for more flexible project management, at the Chambre de Métiers on 27 June.

“While traditional project management methodologies are sometimes showing their limits, in particular with regards to the delivery of high-change projects, organisations are more and more opting for Agile Project methodologies. However, not all projects and programs are suited to be managed in an agile way.

“For such a projects, Project Assurance is certainly an option to be considered especially in case of high risks and high capital projects. Being a project role in itself, Project Assurance aims at providing independent and objective oversight to third parties in order to increase the delivery confidence of a project or a programme”.

The speaker is Cédric Schumacker, who has worked for PwC Luxembourg for more than 10 years within both the Advisory and Assurance line of Services. During his career, he has carried out many project implementation assurance and project delivery assignments mainly in the financial sector.

Being part of the FS consulting practice, he is currently in charge of the quality management and testing as well as project implementation assurance service team.

Cédric also worked for more than four years within the system and process assurance practice, where he got very familiar with internal controls framework and acquired audit technics and methodologies.

He is certified Prince II, Agile Project Management and CISA (Certified Information System Audit).

He holds a Master in Business Engineering from the FUCaM (Facultés Universitaires Catholiques de Mons) in Belgium and has also followed a master in Business Information Management at the Rotterdam School of Management of Erasmus University.
