According to Statec’s ICT study, 97% of Luxembourgish households had internet access in 2016.
In 2016, almost every home in Luxembourg (97%) had access to the internet. The few which did not either did not need internet, lacked the skills to use it or accessed it elsewhere.
Moreover, 95% of internet users are connected to the internet every day or almost every day, with 83% accessing it via their smartphone. 80% use the internet outside of their home or in their workplace.
The 2016 ICT study also revealed that only 8% of internet users did not provide their personal data on the internet. Four out of ten had read the relative clauses regarding confidentiality policies before giving out their personal information over the internet, whilst six out of ten limited access to their geographical location and/or their social media profile or content.
