Microsoft Luxembourg employees have now moved to a new “intelligent” office as part of the company’s aim to improve the quality of their employees’ work environment and well-being.

In the first step of this plan, Microsoft’s partner IoT vyzVoice used their platform Chorus to collect data on the quality of air, existing industrial facilities and additional sensors to improve the work space for its employees. The company hopes to inspire other businesses to do the same.

The vyzVoice system investigated different aspects of Microsoft’s work buildings, such as electricity, heating and air conditioning, and obtained data from different sources. This data is available for employees to see in real time so that they can instantly observe the impact of their work habits on the environment and encourage them to adopt a more sustainable behaviour.

The system is flexible and allows users to personalise and visualise the data.

The partnership between Microsoft and vyzVoice is a mutually beneficial one and this is only the first step in their plan to improve the working environment.
