To celebrate its 50th birthday, Cactus has launched a “birthday brew”, a pale ale specially designed by the Simon brewery, of which a limited edition of 4000 litres will be available in all Cactus stores until stocks run out.

At the small brewery in Wiltz, artisan-brewer Thomas Widowsky concocted the recipe for this English-style ale, a high-fermented beer whose flavoured were developed in the microbrewery in Cornelyshaff that has belonged to the same family for five generations.

Cactus’ birthday beer is a caramelised malt pale ale, made with three kinds of hops and a yeast of English origin resulting in an amber coloured, naturally cloudy beer, with coppery glints.

Marc Hoffmann, Cactus Marketing, expanded.

"50 years, it deserves a beer! Launched together with Betty Fontaine, the Cactus 'Birthday-Brew' is a craft beer like 'Pale Ale', ‘slow-brewed' at the Cornelyshaff in Heinerscheid. This is a special edition that perfectly complements our offer of artisanal beers from both Luxembourg and which marks at best the friendly character of our jubilee. Supporting these artisans-brewers who produce quality without compromise is a real pleasure. “
